Boca Raton, Florida-based ADT Cybersecurity, has announced the permanent closure of its Greensboro, North Carolina-based ADT Cybersecurity/Secure Designs facility, an MMSP (Managed Security Service Provider) for small businesses, and the layoff of its entire workforce by December 31, 2022, with the first layoffs scheduled for March 25, 2022.

ADT acquired Greensboro-based Secure Designs in 2018 with the intention of launching “ADT Cybersecurity” for small business customers nationwide.

Am I Next? Loss of General Motors security services contract.

Conshohocken, Pennsylvania-based Allied Universal, a facility services company offering security, janitorial, and staffing services, has announced the loss of a General Motors security services contract and will layoff 664 employees at 29 facilities located in Michigan effective February 1, 2021.

Facilities in Flint, Saginaw, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Warren, and Bay City, Michigan are affected.

According to a General Motors spokesperson, "the company chose Jupiter, Florida-based G4S to provide security services at all of GM’s U.S. locations based on a thorough review of our security needs and a competitive review process."

“The safety and security of our employees and visitors at all of our sites is at the center of everything we do at GM. We will work closely with both Allied Security Services (a division of Allied Universal) and G4S in ensuring a smooth, safe transition."

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center has notified the company that its Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC), they have awarded the contract to another competitor contractor. The AUTEC contract will expire, on February 4, 2022, and impact 390 employees.

Arlington, Virginia-based PAE, an American defense and government services contractor owned by Platinum Equity, has announced the loss of its contract to provide Visa support services to the U.S. Department of State. PAE will lay off all 425 employees, including administrative, data entry, security specialists, and support personnel at the Kentucky Consular Center located in Williamsburg, Kentucky office. The Visa Support Services contract will expire on February 28, 2020, which is the effective date of the layoffs.
