Saint Paul, Minnesota-based H.B. Fuller Company, a manufacturer of industrial adhesives, has announced an operational restructuring and cost reduction plan.

Approximately 300 employees will be laid off.

According to a company spokesperson, "Consistent with our strategic focus of continuously improving operational efficiency, we are implementing prudent and decisive actions to align our cost structure with lower volume expectations for 2023."

Celeste Mastin, H.B. Fuller's new president and chief executive, noted, "Despite challenging demand conditions, particularly in Construction Adhesives, our team executed exceptionally well to deliver solid first quarter results that were in line with our expectations."

Saint Louis, Missouri-based Emerson Automation Solutions, a supplier of industrial, commercial, and residential control systems and process control technology, has announced the closure of their manufacturing facility located in Black Mountain North Carolina. Approximately 67 employees will be laid off on September 7, 2021.

Am I Next? OPW Egineered Systems permanently closing facility.

Lebanon, Ohio-based OPW Engineered Systems, a manufacturer of loading arms transfer coublers, sight flow indicators, and safety breakaways for use in railcar rack systems and platforms, bulk plant and liquid terminals applications, has announced that it is permanently closing its Lebanon facility commencing July 6, 2021 and being completed by the end of September 2021. The closure will affect all 103 employees.

Layoffs include sales, engineering, machinists, and support personnel. No reason is given for the layoff.
