Hammond, Indiana-based Alverno Laboratories, providing central laboratory management and outreach services to hospitals and physicians, has announced a reduction in force.

The personnel realignment will impact 413 Hammond Central Lab employees and is scheduled to occur on February 11, 2025.

The company has not issued a statement at this time.

Miami, Florida-based CareMax, a Medicare Advantage organization with a full complement of health and wellness services for the senior population, has announced the results of their Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.

The bankruptcy machinations will impact 530 employees as the company enters into an agreement with Revere Medical to sell its core clinic business assets and management services organization on January 31, 2025.

Company employees who are going to be offered employment by the purchaser of the business will be notified of those offers on or before January 17, 2025. CareMax employees who do not receive employment offers from the purchaser will be terminated on or around January 31, 2025.

Springfield, Massachusetts-based Baystate Health, a non-profit integrated healthcare system, has implemented a system-wide strategic planning and restructuring process.

The restructuring will impact 134 employees, primarily in leadership roles.

Per a company statement, “We know these transitions heartfeltly impact our people and their families. We are working to find alternate positions for those whose roles were eliminated, and eligible team members who are not transitioned to another position in our organization will receive severance pay and other job support, including access to career transition services.”

According to newly appointed President and CEO (June 2024) Peter Banko, "We are leaving no stone unturned in pursuit of corporate overhead, external spend, revenue cycle, clinical access and throughput, workforce management and strategic growth improvement levers. We are firmly committed to ensuring that our physicians, nurses, and clinical teams have the support to deliver the high-quality, safe care that Baystate is known for and our patients expect. Outside of implementing our new operating model, no other restructuring has been finalized.

We are significantly decreasing management ... layers to improve efficiency, reduce costs without impacting bedside care, streamline decision-making, and better enable our caregivers. While some of the impacted positions are currently vacant and will no longer be filled, there are leaders leaving Baystate.”
