AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT ICON TECHNOLOGY

Austin, Texas-based ICON Technology, a construction technology company developing robotic and AI systems to lower costs and increase construction speed and quality, has announced a personnel realignment.

The team restructuring will impact 114 employees.

According to a company statement, "Icon has made the difficult decision to "realign their team" to focus on their priorities, including accelerating the development of the company’s new robotic system, Phoenix, and getting 3D printing technology out to builders. While our mission remains to develop these intelligent machines to build humanity's future, we will continue to design and build key projects across residential, hospitality, social/affordable, and those within the Department of Defense with a more streamlined team."

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT CABINETWORKS GROUP (10/11/24)

OCTOBER 11, 2024 -- 420 EMPLOYEES, NOT 118 AS PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED

The company will lay off 420 Thompsontown assembly plant employees beginning on December 9, 2024, and continuing through December 21, 2024.

AUGUST 14, 2024 -- Original post…

Livonia, Michigan-based Cabinetworks Group, a cabinet manufacturer/distributor serving commercial builders and retail outlets, has announced a 20% reduction in its Thompsontown, Pennsylvania facility.

The reduction in force will impact 118 employees.

A company spokesperson noted, “Regrettably, current market conditions have necessitated a reduction in staffing at the Cabinetworks Group manufacturing plant in Thompsontown, Pennsylvania. In an effort to maintain future opportunities for our valued team members, and in accordance with the terms of our Collective Bargaining Agreement, we first enacted a temporary layoff affecting a portion of our Thompsontown workforce. Sustained market conditions then led us to enact permanent layoffs affecting approximately 20% of our workforce there.”

These layoffs follow the announced closure of facilities in Marshall and Jefferson, Texas earlier this month.
